Happy carnival everybody, and man was it a memorable one! A special thanks to our friends Derek and Jamie on sound, our good friends Lucid, Brenda and Murphy and all at The Waterhole, and to our beloved friends and fans of Saranac Lake, it feels great coming back to the greatest celebration in the north country. Winter Carnival is a celebration and tradition of Saranac Lake’s, and has been for over 100 years. We are honored to be a part of it, and already can’t wait for next years.

But as for now, man, we’ve got some great news!! We are heading south, and are doing everything we can to let as many people know as possible!! If you want to help be part of The Blind Owl Street Team, message us on Facebook, go to our contact page, or click here, and message us your address. Request for posters and/or CDs, providing your physical address, and we will send you samplers (our Bootleggers Series) along with posters you can hang up around your town or surrounding areas of our shows.

The Blind Owl Band’s Instruments Were Stolen – Our Road to Recovery…. and how YOU can help!!

Late in the night of October 23rd, our trailer was broken into, and the instruments listed below were taken from us. We ask our friends, fans, and families to keep their eyes open, alerting other musicians, business owners, and citizens about our loss. We hope with enough constant support and determination we are able to unearth these instruments and bring them back to their rightful owners.

List of things stolen for any who are on the look out. Take a look at our photos to see closer details,

1 – Weber Mandolin (Gallatin) Light natural finish, 1 – 1942 Kay Stand up, Double Bass, 1 – Fender p-Bass Fretless Black, 1 – 2006 Stelling Banjo serial # 6316, 1 – Martin Guitar, 1 – Ashdown Bass Head, 1 blonde-finish vintage Stradivarius German copy fiddle,  50 or so Blind Owl Band T-Shirts, CD’s, Hot Sauce, and James’ suitcase of clothes and belongings.

Fall is Here in the North Country!!

Man has it been an amazing summer it was!! The leaves are changing and it begins to make a little more sense that it is coming to an end. We have met amazing bands these past few months, and have been welcomed into tons of different venues, homes, and picking circles. We continue our shows going into the winter, and plan to take our month and a half break November 18th and will be taking time until Christmas for ourselves, traveling, writing, and relaxing from this past year. We have seen a lot of interesting places, and want to thank bands such as Eastbound Jesus and Gold Town for helping to make our stages seem a bit smaller, great memories and good pickin’ times with these guys! Also all the places that have warmed their fires for us such as The Pizza Stone in Chester, VT and all of our new friends and family in the Rochester area. But October and November have a lot in store for The Blind Owl Band. We will be venturing up to Maine for our first time to Harry Brown’s Farm for the Harvest Ball. We will be playing in Vermont and New Hampshire as well with bands such as Gold Town, The Bloodroots Barter, Twiddle, Hayley Jane and the Primates and more. We will be playing our Halloween Rager w/ Lucid, where we will be taking over The Waterhole in our hometown Saranac Lake, NY with Lucid Halloween weekend. We will be out in Syracuse area for our Halloween night show, and will take November for shows in Vermont and western NY. Check out our new events page, and come find us when we are near you!!
