Since the release of our debut effort ‘Rabble Rousing’, the band has spent their time on the road gigging 2 to 5 shows a week. (Playing over 150 shows since the 2012 release)  All this playing has pushed the professionalism of the band, the skill level and sound to new boundaries and will be shown in The Blind Owl Band upcoming recording.

The Blind Owl Band returned the Granary Studio in Morrisonville, NY in March and April 2013 to recorded 12 unreleased original tracks. The songs feature songs that were born within the walls of the Granary recording studio during the recording of “Rabble Rousing” in the fall of 2011 such as “Jazzy Magee”, “Christians Head”, “Cherry Tree”. To new songs that have yet to be played live, such as “Rain On”.

Now as The Blind Owl Band gets ready for summer, they are looking for support to independently release this album. We are aiming to raise $5000 for the production costs, distribution, and costs of recording and mastering our new album. Through our Kickstarter campaign, we have created a list of donations, along with perks and prizes attached to the amounts donated. Where we are today, we oculd never have reached without the support, love, and dedication of all our fans, friends, and family, and now we are at a point where we need you all more than ever!! Happy Spring y’all!! Our winter grew long up north, but getting ready for the summer has been exciting. We are excited to announce many festival appearances and shows all around the northeast these upcoming months (along with a big surprise TO BE ANNOUNCED SOON!)

Our 6 weeks off were great, as we hope everyone elses’ holiday seasons were!! We are back and have already heard talk of some exciting things happening in the summer of 2013. But before our year is over we have our New Year’s Party at The Pizza Stone in Chester, VT, sponsored by CIDER MAG!! Information for that can be found through Facebook or contacting The Pizza Stone through their website. We are ending 2012 with a show in Syracuse with our good friends Driftwood in Syracuse, NY on the 28th at Dinosaur BBQ and a show in our hometown at Captain Cook’s in Saranac Lake on the 29th. January and February are filling up with many dates already up on the site.

Make sure to try and catch The 2nd Annual Cider Awards in Rutland, VT at The Paramount Theater on Friday, January 18th. The Blind Owl Band is up for an award, and are playing an after party that same night, click here to find out where.  If you cannot make it, come out to The Pizza Stone in Chester VT the night before, Thursday, January 17th, for a special performance by ‘James and Jane‘, a new project started by James Ford of The Blind Owl Band and Hayley from Hayley Jane and the Primates, event details here.
